What leather/materials it's good for

Ideal for a variety of leathercraft applications, including:

How to use it

1. Prepare the leather

Make sure the surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or loose fibres. Roughening or preparing the bonding areas may be necessary depending on the leather and application.

2. Choose the right adhesive

Use Ecostick 1804 or Ecostick 5020 according to the requirements of your project and the surfaces being bonded.

3. Apply a thin, even layer

Apply the adhesive to the bonding area and spread it evenly. Avoid applying excessive amounts, as thick glue layers can squeeze out when the pieces are pressed together.

4. Allow the adhesive to set as required

Follow the recommended working time for the adhesive you're using. For contact-style applications, allow the glue to become appropriately tacky before bringing the surfaces together.

5. Align and press

Position the leather pieces carefully, then press them together firmly. Take your time with alignment—once bonded, repositioning may be difficult.

6. Continue with your project

Once the pieces are securely bonded, you can continue with stitching, edge work, skiving, creasing, or finishing as required.

Pro Tip: Keep your glue application thin and controlled. Good leatherwork starts with accurate alignment and a clean bond—not a large amount of adhesive.
