Tokonole is a water-based, non-toxic edge treatment used to burnish and finish leather edges. It can be used on both vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned leather, helping create a smooth and polished edge.

Choose 1 × Ecostick Adhesive

Select the adhesive that best suits your project:

1. Ecostick 9015STHV — 100ml pot
Temporary water-based adhesive designed for clean and accurate positioning of leather pieces before stitching. Ideal when you need to hold layers in place while maintaining flexibility during assembly.

2. Ecostick 1804 / 1816B — 100ml pot
Permanent water-based adhesive for bonding leather components during construction. Ideal when you need a durable, permanent bond between leather layers.

3. Ecostick 5020 — 150ml tube
Barge Glue / Rubber Cement for strong and reliable leather assembly. A practical choice for bonding leather components and preparing pieces before stitching.

How to use it

Step 1 — Prepare your leather

Make sure the leather edges and bonding surfaces are clean and properly prepared before beginning.

Step 2 — Finish your edges with Tokonole

Apply a small amount of Tokonole to the leather edge. Work it into the edge and burnish using a suitable burnishing tool or cloth until the edge becomes smooth and polished.

Repeat as necessary to achieve your desired finish.

Step 3 — Choose your Ecostick

Select 9015STHV, 1804/1816B, or 5020 depending on whether you need temporary positioning, permanent water-based bonding, or rubber-cement-style bonding.

Step 4 — Assemble your project

Apply the adhesive appropriately to the bonding surfaces, align your leather pieces carefully, and press them together. Once secured, continue with stitching and finishing.

Habto Tip: For bag making and layered leather construction, accurate glue application makes a big difference. Keep your adhesive layer thin and even, and take your time getting the pieces aligned before pressing them together.
